ATM Upgrade/Compliance - ConocoPhillips

ATM Upgrade/Compliance

The Project

As a result of a new vendor agreement, ConocoPhillips needed to install new ATM machines in 2,000 Circle K sites across the country, either replacing existing ATM’s or adding a new ATM to some sites.  In order to qualify for a significant incentive from the vendor bank, the client was required to complete the installations within an aggressive timeframe. QPM’s role was to develop the make-ready scope to ensure that the vendor bank would need only to plug the new ATM in when it arrived at the site.  Make-ready requirements included the new data line and properly dedicated electrical, along with confirming an in-store location large enough to accommodate the new ATM.

The QPM Solution

QPM established a bid package based on sample surveys that allowed a national bid process to obtain unit costs for all possible scope of work items.  The awarded contractors then used QPM’s scope/survey form and traveled to each site, verifying what was needed for electrical and data, and completed the work, sending the completed checklist to QPM.  QPM inspected the stores upon completion to confirm quantities were correct and the make-ready was complete for the vendor bank to install the new ATMs.  QPM tracked the entire project and communicated the schedule/progress to the client weekly through completion.

The Results

As a result of QPM’s thorough management of the make-ready process, the installations were completed one time and ConocoPhillips was awarded a significant incentive from their vendor bank.
