Jack in the Box Commercial Construction Management

Restaurants

New Construction

The Project

Jack in the Box engaged QPM to manage development of new restaurants as well as raze and rebuilds of existing older locations.

The QPM Solution

QPM managed 50 new build projects from groundbreaking to site completion and closeout. We performed site visits, reports and communications with architects, and managed contractors, vendors, procurement, and operations. QPM tracked progress and worked with client team members and venders throughout the project to facilitate and coordinate.

While working within the client’s internal 70-day project schedule, QPM was able to adapt to local market issues and conditions.  As the locations were slated for a new prototype building, QPM was able to identify and document issues with the new prototype and also to test new green building products and remote monitoring for maintenance.

Adding to the challenge of this particular initiative was the fact that the client had just adopted new project management software, requiring QPM to quickly adapt and learn the software in order to manage the projects within it.  QPM now serves as a “beta tester” for the software, testing the system and providing feedback to its developers as they continue to make improvements.

The Results

QPM was able to complete all planned locations by year-end, allowing the client to exceed its promise to Jack in the Box shareholders.  QPM successfully managed new site development in California, Nevada, Missouri and Texas, and continues to work with the client on new locations.
