7-Eleven Underground Gas Tank Removal

Petroleum & Convenience Store

Tank Replacements

The Project

QPM was selected to replace existing underground fuel storage tank systems at 130 sites across multiple states.

The QPM Solution

QPM conducted the field scope walk with stakeholders, prepared engineering plans and obtained required permits, prepared budget and released order requests, bid the project, created the schedule, and conducted pre-con meetings. We also executed site visits during key project milestones, conducted final walk and turnover and reviewed and approved the as-built and closeout package.

In an effort to identify all internal and external factors that might affect the project, QPM worked hand-in-hand with 7-Eleven, Inc. to develop a project management guidebook that detailed the process and required documents (more than 30) for this type of project.

The Results

The project was completed at 130 sites within the scheduled timeframe. By establishing a consistent guideline for these projects, a higher level of planning, communication and closeout was achieved by the team, leaving the client very satisfied.

The guidebook developed during the process is now the current standard being used by all Construction Managers for 7-Eleven, Inc. (as well as by QPM’s own Project Managers).

A QPM employee on the project was awarded the 7-Eleven annual Customer Service Award as well as entry to 7-Eleven’s Hall of Fame.
