Q:  We already have a project management process in place, it's just not online where everyone can use it collaboratively.  I'm worried about having to switch to an entirely new process that may not work for my business.

QPMProTrack (QPT) does not force a specific project management methodology on you. You can upload any of their own, proprietary tracking documents, timelines, budgets, etc. and still utilize QPMProTrack to provide a collaborative, web-based, real-time platform. Once these documents are uploaded, users can access them or have QPMProTrack pull the pertinent information from them, as necessary. QPMProTrack is easy to read, navigate through and use.

Q:  Can we use QPMProTrack with existing project management methods?  Can it accommodate traditional methods like Waterfall, as well as agile methods like Scrum?  

Yes!  QPMProTrack can work with these as well as any customized approach to project management.

Q:  I've found that many project management tools focus primarily on the planning phase and do not offer enough functionality for project tracking, control and especially accommodating plan changes mid-project.  . There may be excessive dependency on the first paper print-out of a project plan, which is simply a snapshot at one moment in time. The plan is dynamic; as the project progresses the plan must change to accommodate tasks that are completed early, late, re-sequenced, etc. Good management software should not only facilitate this, but assist with impact assessment and communication of plan changes.

We believe project management software should not ony accommodate dynamic plan changes along the way, but also help with impact assessment and change communication.  QPMProTrack offers the ability to create a timeline template and make revisions throughout the project.  Users can create a baseline schedule & timeline, and plan dates can be changed while preserving the ability to track ‘actual’ vs. ‘plan’.  The system allows users establish specific rules for communicating any plan changes to the project team/stakeholders, etc.

Q:  I'm worried that a new system will be so complicated nobody will use it.  We've tried products before that included complex task and resource functions, and eventually users got so frustrated they just resorted back to paper.

We understand!  In fact, this is one of the reasons we developed QPMProTrack for our own use in the first place.  QPMProTrack is extremely user-friendly and takes advantage of ‘point & click’, as well as drop down menu boxes. We have specifically avoided complicated features that would be difficult to learn and hinder any user.

Q:  Some people feel they achieve better results using a simpler technique, (e.g. pen and paper), but we really need to implement a web-based system for better communication.  How can QPMProTrack help users more comfortable with paper systems?

QPT is easy to use, and most users find it eliminates the need for their paper-based tracking systems.  In addition, users can develop and print out reports – in hard copy – in whatever format they prefer to work in – Excel, PDF, etc.

Q:  I understand needing a system like this when you have lots of major projects, but we typically only have one fairly small project going on at a time, and I'm worried the implementation of a system like this will take more time than it's worth for us.

Even with small projects, it's valuable to capture the project data to use for historical review or budgeting in the future.  The project data is contained in the database – not just on the Project Manager’s laptop -- making it accessible to multiple users.  And QPMProTrack is so easy to use -- with point and click interaction and pull-down menus -- that it's simple to get up and running quickly.
